Simple Craft: Kitchen Apron (And a Blog Party!)

For Artsy Mama's blog party I thought I'd show you my exceptional skill as a photographer and photo editor. NOT!!! (Actually, my sweet little girl took the picture. Pretty good for a 6-year-old. She says that I should tell you this is a picture of my teenage daughter. Which I don't have. The butchery editing is mine.) Never mind, Billy showed me how to crop. I am obviously computer illiterate.

Well, at least I got this picture of the apron I made last night stuck up here. I just traced around an apron I already had, plus a little extra for hemming. It only took about an hour from start to finish, and isn't the bird fabric great?

But that isn't really what I wanted to show you anyway. I love simple craft, and my most-googled post ever, probably, is this one:

Totally Cheating French Photo Board Tutorial, Sort Of

Such a fun and easy project!

Or you can check out all my simple craft posts.

What I'd really love is if one of you super artistic photographers would write a post on taking good pictures...

Anyway, if you love to craft, check out the rest of the artsy and craftsy posts at Artsy Mama's blog party. Wow, you people are so talented.

LOVE the fabric! The apron is amazing!!!
I am hoping that as I home school, home economics, I will learn how to do these things with my girls.
Have a GREAT day... off to school I go!

Thanks, Leah. :)

Christina, if you have a sewing machine and can sew a straight line, you can make this apron. That easy. You can do it!

That is a very cute apron - love the fabric. Also - where did you get the adorable shoes? They look very comfortable and I'm looking for a pair like them.

Thank you, Grace! The shoes are actually cheapies from K-Mart. They are pretty comfortable, although I think they will be more so once I wear them for a few days. They are new.

Welll....I just HAD to come say "hi" to another Charity, of course. I'm a Charity Lynn. :) You don't meet many of us Charitys. Online or in "real life". Love your blog. Gonna go mosy around a bit.

Thanks for stopping by Charity! Actually CG is just my nom de plume. However, Lynn is also my real middle name IRL! :) Too funny. But I adore the name Charity.

You look so cute! I noticed the shoes, too, I hope they end up being super comfortable - what I call three-mile shoes. :)

I am really getting the itch to get making something. (Of course, I get the urge now, when life's about to get busy with Awana.) I had such good success cutting the pockets out of my shorts, I may attempt to re-construct the darts on a thrift store blouse. (Should be no problem, since of course I need to make the bust smaller. lol)

LOVE the fabric! Don't let Chrissy fool ya either. She can sew a bit. She's very competent. Simple, quick crafts are right up my alley right now. Great job.

So, everyone is talking about these cute shoes that have obviously been cropped out of the picture. lol

I love the apron! Simple and feminine. I also like that fabric. Where'd you find that treasure?

Saw your edit note about Billy showing you how to crop. Ryan always wants to just do it for me. Last night I put my foot down and said, no, show me how to do this so I can do it myself! I hate knowing something should be possible, but not having the slightest idea how to go about getting the result I desire!

Charity Grace,
If your wondering... the family calls me Chrissy. LOL

I used to wear an apron all the time, they're an infinitely handy part of a wardrobe. I got out of the habit, but lately have picked it up again.

I like your bulletin board idea too. I think I could make one using a piece of fabric for the background. And if I got bored of it, I could always swap it out for another print.

Thank you for the ideas!
