Hope Chest Pillowcases

Well, I'm a bit late joining Show and Tell Friday today. I just forgot. And I had other half-finished things languishing in my files that I posted earlier. So this will be a day for lots of posts!

I embroidered this set of pillowcases for my hope chest when I was 18. Shhhh, don't tell anyone they aren't ironed.

I think I've lost my touch. My embroidery doesn't look nearly this nice now. Maybe I just need more practice!

Those are so sweet. My grandmother embroidered pillowcases. They are great keepsakes...

So pretty and brought back some sweet memories for me. My Grandma's and especially my aunt's on daddy's side all did beautiful embroidery work. My one aunt, almost 80 now, still works all year to gift us with tea towels or hot pads with her work on them for Christmas!

I recieved a set of pillowcases embriodered by my step grandmother. I never really knew my grandfather and we invited him to the wedding just to be nice. He came! Much to our suprise and he brought me these pillow cases made by his wife. I treasure them, he is gone, but I feel a little something from them since he came all the way from Tenn to here to give them to me!

So pretty! I am in the process of embroidering a set of pillowcases and I am planning on for Christmas making one for each of my children with their special theme.

Thanks for sharing your pillowcases with us!

I LOVE it! The colors are nice.
I'd rather sleep on a pillowcase like that than any from a ritzy shop.
