Milk Glass

This is my little collection of milk glass. I believe all of it came from Billy's family, except the saucer which was on the free table at an antique store. I'm pretty sure it's all original, not reproduction--again, except possibly for the saucer which is unmarked. I'm not an expert, so I don't know how to tell.

Did you know milk glass could be translucent, like the fluted vase above? I didn't. I recognized the distinctive hobnail design, and when I researched I found that not all milk glass is opaque.

My best friend has an extensive collection of milk glass so I have become quite adept at spotting it when I am in an antique store! Very pretty!

I got bounced today, somehow I didn't quite fit into the guidelines. That's okay, my post stands as is.

Nice--I have seen the translusant (sp?)kind too. I don't know if I would want to drink out of one. The nobby things for some reason make be think of the old nobby bedspreads ;-)

I had one piece of milk glass in all the 40 years I've been married, and for the life of me, I can't find it. LOLOLOL

Beautiful.

My SnT is posted. If you haven't dropped by, I sure hope you can!! Happy Friday.

I have been enjoying your recent posts. :-) Especially the oneson Peace.

Wanted to ask... do you collect china tea cups even if they don't have the saucers, or do you only collect them as sets? I have a small collection of cups I'm going to get rid of and if you'd like to have any of them I'd be happy to send them your way. :-) If you're interested, let me know. There's one or two designs that I have more than one of...

Oh yes, and when is the baby due?!

Erica, I would love them! No, lots of my tea cups are mismatched or don't have saucers. I got a few plain white saucers from Goodwill to stand in for my saucerless cups. I'll be emailing you...Thank you so much for thinking of me! :)
