What Would You Think...

If you heard your 2-year-old whisper, "Uh-oh. Uh-oh. Uh-oh," as she flew through the kitchen, grabbed a dish towel, and flew back out? Would you think that she poured half a very large bottle of skin-so-soft oil in the carpet? Me neither. But she did.

And after you got what was left of the bottle and put it in the sink for a moment of safe-keeping, what would you think if you heard your 2-year-old shout, "NO, BUBBA!" and the 4-year-old say in his most patronizing, big-brother tone, "Sarah, we need to pour the water out of the bottle." Glug glug glug... And you turn around and see them both on a stool next to the sink where the remaining skin-so-soft was. Yes, was. Sigh.

My whole house stinks of skin-so-soft and company is to arrive soon.

What would you do?

Just tell them that you are trying to keep summer bugs at bay. Silly kids!

Could be worse ...

Yes, it definitely could be worse. And this is yucky old rent house carpet (obviously our damage is not the first spill/stain), so that is OK too. It's mainly the smell I can't get rid of. I really dislike the SSS smell, and the house--now mainly that room--reek of it. Hmmmm...I guess we won't have any bugs inside!

I remember when my older daughter was in the tub alone (age 7?) and dumped a bottle of the stuff into the water. Then proceeded to put her hair in it. We got her out and ready for church, thinking her hair was just wet. After a bit, we realized it was greasy from that oil! Except we were now at church. And it took much shampoo to get it all clean again. (I don't like the smell either)
